The First Letter from Goodie, Welcome

November 09, 20244 min read

Goodie, I love that word.

Loved it so much I wanted to wear it as my title instead of the traditional word grandma. Goodie makes me feel like I have a big tickle in my tummy, like something of wonder is about to happen.

My desire is to share with Cooper and the Covey, things I think they may enjoy. I want to explore the things they find curious. That was the best part of raising my boys. They taught me to explore things I had never tried.

Curiosity, that's a fantastic word too. To be curious and wonder about a new idea. How you should move to bring in into your reality is a very fun adventure. I find when I give my body something to do, like ride a bike or crochet, something I am skilled at that does not require concentration. That is when I can explore with enthusiasm the thing, I am most curious about in the moment.

Take for instance, Coopers Covey.

This idea came because I wanted to make a special quilt for my first grandchild.

sea and sky book

I love design; however, I do not possess the skills my niece has invested her time and money into. Holly of, Holly Reese Designs said, "yes", when I asked her if she would help me create a fabric for Cooper.

Sea and Sky was brought to life as I described to her my ideas. She captured my vision perfectly in the sea and sky design. That's the print with all the animals, fowl, fish and flowers. Coopers Mom is of the sea, her Dad was born needing to fly. I wanted the two elements blended in harmony.

Holly then said yes, when I asked if she could take elements from the sea and sky design to make fabrics that complement so I could create my quilt ideas. What fun we had playing with our merging minds. I have heard of being in flow. Always wondered what that really felt like. I know now! It has felt like a faucet has been turned in my being, as one idea after another has been coming to me. I love to journal; I have to take notes, or I will lose that idea that just floated in. The little books were a given. Then as I pondered the sea and sky fabric that had arrived in the mail. I wondered what it would look like to remove all the color. I was remembering looking at wrapped gifts as a child wondering what could possibly be inside. Almost making myself nuts with the anticipation. Wouldn't it been fun if I could have colored that package as I pondered its contents? So again, I asked Holly who creates wrapping paper will you make sea and sky into black and white so I can color? Yes! The paper is so fun! Here is another way you may use the paper at your next gathering. Kids and adults love to color. Stretch out the paper on a table with some crayons and enjoy the smiles that emerge. Pottery is a fun way to express yourself. While I don't love how dry it makes my hands feel. I do love the way the clay is playable and molds into whatever your imagination can conceive. The full potential of that medium is yet to be discovered. But when it's finished, I will be sure to share. Okay, so I have made all this stuff now what? Well, what about doing like I use to and selling items at local Pop i Another green light! First Pop Up will be in Cody/Powell Wyoming, May 16th and 17th. I will be bringing Dora; she is our big red van. Can't miss her. She has lots of Retro flowers all over her exterior. If you would like to see the wares in person, I will be happy meet you.

As the covey changes and grows so will the ideas presented for that I am sure of. We hope that you will enjoy adding the love filled creations into your life and the lives of those you care for. Please add your email so we can reach out to you as new things are presented.

To date my list of things to share includes, gardening, exercise, recipes, natural remedies, crafting, animal husbandry and, wood working with Timmy.
